Battery type: replaceable vs rechargeable

User-replaceable (Peregrine, Pucks, Zoop, Cressi, Oceanic): swap in 30 seconds. Battery is $3–8 at any electronics shop. If your computer dies on day 5 of a liveaboard, you’re not stuck. Downside: you need to reseal the battery compartment correctly, or you flood the housing.

Rechargeable integrated (Garmin G1, Shearwater Tern): charge via USB-C/proprietary cable. No battery economy concerns. Downside: when the battery degrades after 5–7 years, the unit goes back to the manufacturer for ~$120 replacement service. And on a liveaboard, no power = no diving.
